Scotiabank Perú and N-Via Sign Agreement to Offer Mobile Money Transfers in Perú
Lima, Peru (PRWEB) December 5, 2007 -- Business cable: Scotiabank Perú and N-Via USA Inc., a company specializing in financial services and money transfer, including prepaid debit cards, bill payment, mobile payments and mobile to mobile transfers, announced today an agreement to provide mobile payment services, with cash out options through Scotiabank Peru more than 400 service outlets in 27 cities across Peru.
The agreement between N-Via and Scotiabank will enable both companies to enhance their complementary services.
Peru is an attractive market for N-Via. According to the Interamerican Development Bank´s Multilateral Investment Fund Perú receives 2.86 billion dollars in annual remittance, and the seventh largest receiver in Latin America. "Money needs to be moved faster for increase productivity, mobile payments will enable all cell phone users to securely transfer funds, make payments and pay bills at the speed and convenience of a text message," said Enrique Zevallos, President of N-Via.
N-Via operating under its Master Agent agreement with TreasureCom Financial Holdings, Inc., offers a range of services that go from traditional cash pick ups, deposit on bank accounts, to prepaid debit cards. The company has enhanced its service line up to include mobile payments and mobile transfers using cell phones with text messages (SMS) technology. The new N-Via person to person mobile transfer services will allow customers to send and receive funds easily, securely through any mobile telephone within Peru.
Moreover customers may receive their transfers sent by cellular phones at any of Scotiabank Peru 400 branches, Cajeros Express and points of services or transfer funds to a prepaid debit card. The agreement with Scotiabank will allow both companies the mutual advantage of increasing their services options and offer the convenience of money transfers to customers wherever they might live.

The agreement with N-Via will allow consistent financial services, with high quality use of innovative technology. We have more than 400 points of services among branches and Express Cashiers or Cajero Express in Perú which guarantees an adequate coverage to provide the services. The agreement with N-Via provides Scotiabank with a new alternative to provide our customers superior quality services."
