Making Money Online - 4 ways to set up your online business

I am often asked, how it is possible to make money online. People have often heard that it is possible but just don't know where to start.

Well, there are generally a few different ways of making money through the internet. In this post I want to show you 4 different ways, so you can then choose, wich would be the one most suitable for you. This, of course, can also be a combination of the different ways that I am going to describe.

1. Selling your own Product

Certainly you can open an online shop that pretty much works in the same way a regular shop in the 'real world' does. You have one or more products that you create and sell. Online shops have quiet a few advantages in comparison to a real world shop. You don't have to pay rent, electricity, or staff. Furthermore, you are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And this basically in every country in the world. Now compare the number of potential customers of the world with the number of customers you could achieve having a little shop in your home town. And then answer yourself the question, which of these two options is more reasonable. However, not every concept of a shop can be converted into an online version.

Ideal products for an online shop would be software, electronical devices, or all sort of products that do not have a due date. Fruit, therefore, might not be the best idea for an online shop.

Fashion can work but is definitely not easy, since most people out there still prefer to try things on before they buy.

2. Reselling a Product

You can still run your own online shop even though you don't have your own product. You can basically buy all types of products from wholesalers to then sell them to your customers for a higher price. Besides that, this concept works pretty much in the same way when selling your own product.

3. Referring Customers to Products of other Businesses

Choosing this way of making money is even easier since you don't have to create a shop system. You can refer customers through links in your blog posts or any other texts on websites or in e-mails. This so called 'Affiliate Marketing' is offered by a large number of companies allowing you to get started pretty much right away. These affiliate programs don't bring as much profit as selling your own products, but you have to consider that you don't really have to do anything else than referring some customers. Definitely an easy and fast way to get started. There are literally hundreds of affiliate programs out there. The one I am doing pretty well with is this.

4. Advertisement on Your Website

You can easily make money through showing other peoples ads on your own website. There are Companies that pay you for showing their ads for a certain amount of time, a certain amount of page impressions, or others that will pay you every time one of your visitors clicks on the ad. The easiest way to start putting paid ads on your site is [[Google AdSense]], which I'm sure you have already heard about. Google automatically chooses ads matching your website's content.
