Silver Slipper Casino Announces Opening Date
Lakeshore, MS (PRWEB) October 14, 2006 -- Silver Slipper Gaming executives have announced that the Silver Slipper Casino, located in Hancock County Mississippi, will open Thursday, November 9, at 7:00 p.m. “We’re proud to be the first land-based built casino to open on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and to play an integral part in the rebuilding efforts and economic recovery for the Coast and Hancock County,” stated John N. Ferrucci, COO and General Manager of the Silver Slipper Casino. “We’ve been working day and night to make it happen. Now the wait is over. It’s time to celebrate the newest and friendliest casino on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.”
The Silver Slipper’s doors will open at 7:00 p.m. Grand opening festivities will include two free performances by Sonny Turner and the Original Platters in the Casino Show Bar that evening, with two free repeat performances on Friday, November 10, and Saturday, November 11. Grand opening guests will receive a complimentary Silver Slipper Grand Opening t-shirt, while supplies last.

The new 100,000 square foot Silver Slipper Casino, will offer 30,000 plus square feet of gaming space with over 1,000 slots and twenty-six table games including Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Mini-baccarat, Flop Poker and 3 Card Poker. The Silver Slipper Casino will also offer a ten table poker room, three restaurants and the Casino Show Bar, featuring live entertainment, year round.
The Silver Slipper is now accepting registrations for Charter Memberships in the new Silver Slipper Players Club. The Jubilee Buffet offers casual dining in a warm, comfortable ambiance of stained wood, natural stone columns, terra cotta and colorful mosaics. The Buffet boasts the most extensive salad bar on the Gulf Coast including over thirty fresh cut and marinated vegetables, imported cheeses and olives, savory gumbos, an assortment of fresh fruits, and a Coast favorite, fresh boiled local shrimp. Entrées will include a wide selection of championship slow smoked barbecue and rotisserie grilled meats as well as Southern, Cajun and Creole menu items and a delectable dessert bar. The Jubilee Buffet will host a “Friday Night Seafood Extravaganza”, as well as a Sunday Jazz Brunch and a “Sunday Dinner” menu.
The Blue Bayou Bar & Grill, the Coast’s most unique and contemporary upscale bar & grill, will feature an exhibition style kitchen which will allow guests to observe the chef preparing their menu selections. Expansive windows offer guests spectacular views of the sparkling Gulf of Mexico as they dine. The Blue Bayou Bar & Grill’s exceptional gourmet menu will include a distinctive selection of appetizers, fine steaks, fresh local seafood, chops, pasta and more. All entrées will be accompanied by a tableside salad bar and sides. Guests can sit back and relax in the lounge as they enjoy one of the Blue Bayou Bar signature cocktails or other popular libations. And, to complete the fine dining experience, The Blue Bayou Bar & Grill will feature live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights.
The Palm Court Café, open 24 hours with a quick service menu and take out service, will feature a variety of soups and gumbos, grilled and fried regional favorites, pizzas, deli sandwiches and po-boys, and more. The Café’s all day breakfast menu will offer an array of freshly baked breads, pastries, assorted fruit, signature cakes, Italian gelatos and specialty coffees.
The Casino Show Bar will feature live local entertainment throughout the year. Local favorite Brooks “Daddy Man” Hubbard will perform nightly in the Casino Show Bar through the end of 2006.
The Silver Slipper Casino is the first land-based built casino to open on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
